President – Karen Humphries Sallick

Karen is one of the original cofounders of IACRF and currently serves as Board President. The mother of a son and daughter, she co-created the organization after her daughter, Skyler, underwent a bone marrow transplant. The innovative and advanced cancer research that drove Skyler’s transplant protocol made it possible for her to be a thriving and accomplished high school senior today.

Karen is President of The Priority Group, Inc., a customer experience management consulting firm which she founded in 1996. She has cofounded and is launching Contacts411, an innovative app-based service that keeps contact/client information current, accurate and usable. With over 25 years of marketing, CRM and clienteling experience, Karen has always been at the forefront of the customer experience revolution.

Prior to founding her company, Karen was General Manager and creator of the Marketing Planning and Analysis Unit and Vice President of Client Development at Harte-Hanks. She also served as Director of Strategic Planning and Customer Development for Barneys New York. Karen began her career at Goldman, Sachs & Company. She is a graduate of Phillips Academy Andover and Wesleyan University.

For more personal fulfillment, Karen created, produced, and hosted Embracing the Journey, a weekly internet radio program that explored spirituality in business; during the show’s five-year run, she was honored as Host of the Year on the Voice America network. She produces and invests in Broadway shows.

Karen is on the development board of WSHU, her local NPR station, and on the board of KidSpirit.com, a nonprofit publication by teens for teens focused on peace and tolerance. She has served as a board member of Do Ngak Kunphen Ling Tibetan Buddhist Center for Universal Peace, as well as on the advisory board of the Auburn Media Center, a non-profit organization that believes that communication is an art that can bridge divides, advocate for justice, and heal the world.

Vice-President – Carol J Kennedy

Ms. Kennedy was the founder and first President of IACRF, and now serves as Vice-President.  She is a pediatric oncology nurse in Manhattan with more than 19 years of experience.  Throughout her career she has known a large number of cancer survivors, but also way too many whom did not.   The former move on with their lives, the latter she never forgets.  A true believer of the fundamental role of science in curing cancer, Ms. Kennedy dedicates much of her non-working hours to providing assistance to patients and their families and supporting high impact research.

Secretary – Linda Adams

Linda is one of the original co-founders of IACRF. She was inspired to join the team by her son Alex’s battle with Bone Marrow Cancer. During his illness, it became apparent that there was not nearly enough funding for the research of Pediatric Cancers.

Linda is a full time licensed hairstylist since 1986, and former owner of Creative Design Hair and Nail Studio, as well as co-lead vocalist in a local cover band since 2010. The most important of her jobs is being Mom.

Treasurer – Donna W Alex

As one of IACRF’s founders, Donna helped develop IACRF from concept to reality. Donna is treasurer of the Foundation and is responsible for donations, expenses, grant disbursements, and all financial records.

Donna is a long-time resident of Washington, Connecticut located in Litchfield County. She is a Certified Connecticut Municipal Collector and currently an elected official serving her town as tax collector.

Her oldest son, Ted, is a survivor of osteosarcoma. During Ted’s battle, Donna quickly learned that osteosarcoma, bone cancer most commonly occurring in teenagers, is a good example of pediatric cancer where little progress has been achieved.
